The View: Among the graves of soldiers
How I got the shotEvery year a Scout troop comes to place flags on the gravestones for Memorial Day. Although we cover it often, it's always touching to see the youngsters doing their part to make sure those who served are appreciated. There were supposed to be more Scouts to place the flag, but the thunderstorms kept all but a few away. I like the progression of the stones and flags; I used a telephoto zoom lens to make the picture.

Raleigh wedding photographer is nationally recognized
The AG| WPJA just recently announced the 1st quarter image competition results and Raleigh Wedding Photographer Michelle Gunton Photography is nationally recognized in the ceremony category. I am honored to be recognized on such a high level. Over thousands of entries are submitted from all over the world. You can imagine the happiness I felt to be flipping through all the winning wedding images and see mine pop up on the screen, it placed 12th in the ceremony category. They got it, and saw what I saw. I’m so over joyed. I love being a wedding photographer.

Judges Comment: This image is all about the little boy. The look on his face is fantastic and there is great light and very nice use of composition.
