The premier women's basketball league in the world, the WNBA is one of the beacons of women's professional sport. Founded in 1996 by the National Basketball Association, the WNBA has benefitted from the full faith and backing of the NBA to grow and become a fixture of the American sporting scene.
With twelve teams, the league has eight "sister teams" (WNBA franchises affiliated with NBA teams) and four unaffiliated teams. The WNBA is the first women's professional sports league to successfully sell their TV rights and games are broadcast on ESPN and over-the-air on ABC. Guess somehow her name was added to the draft list a yr or so ago and our Coach Thibault selected her. Wondered if anyone knew when she might actually consider coming to Connecticut to play?
