Private land could become national park

Private land could be designated as national parks under an idea being floated by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
A discussion paper has been released outlining options to extend protection beyond current Heritage Agreements.
Manager of Public Land Planning Jason Irving says it would be a first for Australia, and possibly the world.
He says in the last 10-15 years there has been a lot of private landholders and non government organisations wanting to manage land for conservation.

Not many people have the honour of having a nature reserve named after them.
But, Peterborough has a special self-taught naturalist, who's passionate about conserving his regions native bushland.
Kendall Jackson recently visited the Greg Duggan Nature Reserve, which sits high on a hill and overlooks the historic steam town.
She got a tour with the man himself, Greg Duggan, who showed off some of the rare plants in the reserve.

People involved in the South Australian sheep industry could soon be making decisions as one group, as opposed to lots of smaller advisory groups.
The results of a survey being put out by the South Australian Sheep Advisory Group will determine if this could happen.
The survey is a review of what is happening in the industry.
Jane Kellock is the chair of the Action plan reference group and is about to take over as chair of the South Australian Sheep Advisory Group.
She says a united group of all involved in the industry is part of an action plan required for the industry.
